Ending up in the NICU

Pretty quickly in the newborn nursery they realized that she was not holding her temperature well on her own. So they put her in an isolette. After Mommy's stuff was started she convinced someone to bring her down to the newborn nursery (who can sleep after so much excitement) and since she was no longer allowed to hold Brownie (the boys nickname for their sister), she just sat by the isolette watching.
Early in the morning her OB (and the best doctor ever) came down to the newborn nursery and brought her back to her room to give her an exam. The bloodwork was looking like things were going back to normal. A little while later, the pediatrician came in and mentioned that Brownie's initial bloodwork indicated that she had an infection that would have to be treated with some antibiotics (You should have heard the skepticism from the three resident microbiologist Grandparents...). Unfortunately, they only handle newborn IVs in the NICU...
So away we went...Lucky (depending on how you look at it) Mommy & Daddy are ol' pros at that scene and we knew how things would go. She still wasn't holding her temp very well and she wasn't eating well, so she earned herself a gavage tube. And, just like her brother, she pulled it out on a regular basis.
